About Refugee Education Fund
Funding education to empower future leaders and change-makers.
Refugee Education Fund is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All of our staff and board directors work on a volunteer basis.
Our purpose is to provide support and assistance to international learning centers around the world that provide education to refugees and displaced youth. We strive to enable these centers to expand their services, to help improve the quality of their education, and to support programs that broaden professional opportunities for students after graduation. REF seeks to guide and support students' individual paths, whether that be pursuing higher education or entering the workforce.
We are supporting the Love & Care Learning Center near Mae Sot, Thailand. The school has provided care, education, hope, and safety to hundreds of youth fleeing the violence in Myanmar. Click here to learn more about their incredible story.
Your donations are used to hire teachers, create and sustain GED and vocational training programs, purchase educational materials, and support the living expenses of displaced students. Click below to learn more about the impact of your donations.

Our Team
At Refugee Education Fund, our team is deeply motivated to support the education of youth refugees. Our directors bring diverse experiences from backgrounds in education, business, and non-profits. All of our work is done on an unpaid volunteer basis.
Cloe Miller
Cloe taught GED preparation at Love & Care in 2023, where she was deeply inspired by the school's incredible directors and students. She is passionate about youth development and education equity. She served as a volunteer ESL teacher and citizenship exam tutor for the Asian Pacific Development Center. Cloe is currently serving as an English education volunteer in Kosovo.
David Miller
David dedicated his career to serving education and adult literacy programs, first as the Executive Director of Project Read in Redwood City, then as CEO of LiteracyPro Systems for over 25 years. He has taught English and GED classes both in-person and virtually at Love & Care over the past 2 years, and plans to return annually with his family to continue his involvement with this remarkable organization.

Jennifer Perlick
Jennifer is an award-winning educator who has taught for over 20 years. Jennifer leads middle and high school students in domestic and international experiential education programs. She is a strong believer in service-based education and an avid global adventurer. Jennifer completed her undergraduate at Cornell University and earned her master’s degree in Global Education at the University of Denver.
Chad Stamm
As an active member of Rotary International, Chad has extensive experience facilitating international service projects. Specifically, the Rotary Youth Exchange program encapsulates his belief that peace and understanding stem directly from global experience and education.
